My social issue project, The Effects of Microplastics on the Human Body, involved designing both a clock and an exhibit structure that visually interpret the unseen impact of microplastics. The 12-inch laser cut clock face was developed as a conceptual visualization an element of the issue, incorporating a single logotype word that relates visually. The exhibit structure translated my research into a spatial experience, highlighting core elements of the topic through clear themes, imagery, and interactive strategies. The design process moved from content briefs and schematic outlines to full-scale prototyping. Paired with my book, the clock and exhibit follow a cohesive visual system that communicated complex content in an engaging and memorable way.
